Best of Open Stage Night @ Free Times Cafe

Last night I was fortunate enough to share the stage with two other musicians from the Free Times Cafe Open Stage, Oz Frankie and Kevin Bresser in Toronto. It was a great room to play and the turnout was phenomenal!

Located in downtown Toronto, Free Times Cafe has been hosting great live music for the last 30 years. Every Monday night they hold an Open Stage Night hosted by a local musician. On Feb. 27 I went to check out the scene and play a few songs. After playing that nightI was approached by the host Jessica Speziale about performing at the Best Of Open Stage Night and I jumped at the chance.

The night was a blast! I started out the night playing a 40 minutes set of mixed originals and covers and felt very warmly welcomed by the crowd. Oz and Kevin were fantastic and all around it was a great night of music! Thanks to Judy and Jeffery at Free Times for making me and the audience feel right at home. If you ever find yourself in Toronto definitely go check out this great venue.

I’m so happy to announce that my EP “Songs For Her” is available now for listening and downloading at:
http://shawnevans.bandcamp.com

We are working right now on the album art, manufacture and physical distribution of the cd’s. If all goes well these will be available within the next couple of weeks. Also we are making arrangements for an EP release and Bon Voyage party. Stay tuned for more.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this EP possible. Especially Camilo Landau for his amazing production skills and Denise Fernandes for pushing me everyday to write, play and record the best music I can.

Help me make my first EP a reality!!

I am very happy to announce that I have begun recording my first in what I hope to be a series of EP’s. I am working with Camilo Landau, a talented producer in Oakland to record this first EP. After just one session in the studio we have made great headway!

Many of my friends, fans and family have generously offered to offer me assistance, financial and otherwise, once recording got underway. Believe it or not there’s even a Facebook Group set up to help get this project off the ground.

Your monetary donation will help me to pay for recording and production time, including paying the talented musicians who will be working on this project.

In return, your donation of $20 or more acts as a pre-order for the EP and as an invite to the CD release party admission free (date TBA). In addition, fans who donate now will be eligible for future special musical events and promotions not available to the general public.

Recording a CD that really shows the potential of my songs has been a dream of mine for many years. With your help I hope to create a recording to be proud of and to begin sharing my music with a larger audience of people.
